We have arrived back in Ireland with an ambitious agenda. The Fulbright Specialist assignment will focus on comparative research on policing and teaching law and criminal justice.

Unfortunately, my Mom passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully last Wednesday. Services were Monday. So well attended by her many friends and extended family. We celebrated her life and then headed for Logan Airport, to arrive at the Shannon Airport after an overnight flight.

I will meet with the Irish Fulbright Commission, University of Limerick (UL) President, faculty at Law School, UL Fulbright Ambassador. I will hold various meetings with An Garda Síochána (AGS) high-ranking officials (Irish National Police) regarding implementation of reforms for the AGS organization and professionalization of training at the upper levels. and observed at training at the Garda College in Templemore, Ireland.

I will get to work with members of the UL Law faculty to prepare and provide external review for development of training modules for senior Gardai on Serious Crimes Investigation training modules, Criminal Assets training modules. I will also meet with Special Tactics and Operations Command (STOC) leadership on use of force training.

I have been asked to provide a lecture to more than 200 Garda cadets on Use of Force at the Garda College.

.

I have been engaged by the UL Law School as an external reviewer, during the Viva Voce phase of doctoral research. This role will continue, as one dissertation review has been completed.

I have also been engaged as the external reviewer to accredit certain Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training modules offered by the Garda College, for advanced (Masters level) academic credit.

In the last few days of this assignment, I have been invited to provide a presentation entitled: Leadership Opportunities: Implications for Policy and Organizational Change: A Comparison of Government Reports on Policing in Ireland and the USA.

I am so lucky and blessed to be able to participate in this opportunity!
