Today, I met with members of the an Garda Síochána (AGS) Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) on Harcourt Street in Dublin.

I received a lengthy and detailed briefing from Detective Inspector Tom Lynch and Detective Sergeant Kieran Goulding.

Ironically, when I went to Inspector Lynch's office, his predecessor had a flag set, similar to the on I had provided way back in 1999, when I traveled to Dublin. While working as a Supervisory Special Agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration, we delivered training for AGS on Asset Forfeiture and Financial Investigations.

The Criminal Assets Bureau has become sophisticated and successful, serving as a model for efficiency and effectiveness, denying criminals assets derived from ill-gotten enterprises..

I will return to Dublin in the next few weeks to continue the dialogue.
